In the medical alert systems community there are considered to be three different levels of service available. A basic understanding of these levels of service will help you make the right decision for you and your loved one.

In our opinion the right level of service for ninety-eight percent of those seeking the best medical alert systems available would be the Reliable and Affordable level of medical alert companies. These are good companies with great customer service that do everything a Full Service company does with one exception. They don’t send a representative to your home to sell you or plug in the system. These days plugging in medical alert systems is easy, just plug the base unit into a wall outlet and a phone jack. Then you press your button and test the system. The whole process of plugging in a system and testing it takes approximately ten minutes. Unless you really need the help plugging it in, why pay the high price of a full service company?
American Senior Safety Agency is the best of the Reliable and Affordable companies. Now to be honest here, we are prejudiced :) What makes Senior Safety the best starts with our CEO Jeff Miller’s 30 years of experience which includes writing the monitoring software he used in his first monitoring centers, manufacturing the equipment and being one of the pioneers of the medical alarm industry in January 1981. Our clients benefit from Jeff’s wisdom.
Some of the biggest companies in the medical alert industry will be more than happy to send a salesperson to your home or someone to plug in the medical alarm systems. There are several good medical alarm companies out there like this. You'll probably find that while these are nice added bonuses, they can quickly add up in the price that you pay. They tend to cost between $39 per month and $62 per month. To be honest these are good companies too but they must charge more to pay for their vast amount of television advertising as well as the cost of salesperson and installers. If you feel the need for a Full Service company we would recommend trying the two biggest companies *Lifeline and *Life Alert.
There are a lot of companies out there. Some are new and or not well established. Some medical alert systems are sold without a monitoring service to assess and respond to your situation. Call everyone that you are considering signing up with and ask questions… You will get a great "gut feel" of the sort of company that you are dealing with immediately…
Regardless of whose medical alert systems you choose, you are making a good decision to protect you or your loved one with a quality medical alarm. The peace of mind is well worth it.
Life Alert medical alert systems are often compared to the Senior Safety medical alert systems. Life Alert costs start at $29.95 per month for its most basic program which requires a 3 year contract; you can also add more features and pay a lot more money per month. Senior Safety is $24.95 per month with no long term contracts you can cancel at anytime. Most people consider Senior Safety an excellent Life Alert alternative.
We just love when people call us back to order after conducting reviews and comparisons of all medical alert systems telling us American Senior Safety Agency is their choice because they think we are the best. And everyone loves our prices! That’s one of the reasons people list us among their Life Alert alternatives.
We take great pride in our Customer Service (truly the most important part of any monitoring service), often we spend more than an hour helping our clients out over the phone… we take all the time they need. It's clear to us that as age creeps up on us, sometimes we need a little more caring help… someone to listen to you.
If you are curious about any company's record or other alternatives, we suggest typing their name and "complaints" into Google… like "Senior Safety Complaints," "Life Alert Complaints," etc.
Life Alerts equipment seems to be fine but their 3 year contract that must be cancelled 6 months before its end date or be continued for an addition year is cumbersome for seniors or anyone else making Life Alert for seniors a less flexible option compared to others without a long term contract.
